Welcome! I´m Ashley and I am here to support you on your journey in raising your children into calmer, more confident and more resilient human beings, while also focusing on cultivating these qualities in parents as well. It is all connected.
A little bit about me
I’m Ashley and I am here to walk alongside you on your parenting journey through teaching, deep listening, holding space and compassionate support. My wish is to help us connect with ourselves and with our children, and to increasingly enjoy this sacred moment in your family life.
I have a degree in Psychology and a Masters in Social Work, as I knew from the start of my adult life that I wanted to work in a way that supported and served others' wellbeing. Since my teens I have worked to support children and families in the areas of special needs, orphan children, refugee and immigrant families, human trafficking survivors, and the like. After working for years in the trenches, I slowed down and began to seek more calm and meaning in my own life, leaving me to become a Simplicity Parenting Coach and training in Waldorf Early Childhood Education. I have experience working with children and families in Canada, India, Israel and Costa Rica. I have over 17 years experience working with children in schools and am currently an independent parenting counsellor and school counsellor.
Despite my studies and background, it was becoming a mother to three children that taught me so much about the value of deep presence in a relationship, and the sacredness of the parenting path.
My philosophy
In parenting and in life, I like to keep things simple and sweet. There is great pleasure and beauty in embracing the ordinary gifts of life and nature.
Modern day society, in contrast, seems to be moving us away from this, encouraging us to have more and more “stuff”, to do more and be less, and to go faster instead of slowing down. Caught in a competitive race of more and more, the invitation HERE is to do less, find your center, and enjoy.
Doesn´t that sound like such a relief? It should feel like one too!
You don´t need to buy any new fancy things, sign up for more activities or worry about more. The work here is mostly about letting go, looking inward, and going back to basics.
Our relationship with our children is at the center of our family life, based on healthy attachment, calm and non reactive attitudes, strong and clear family values and a sense of belonging throughout time and space.
Time to change our focus on what really matters.
Time to change our focus on what really matters.
We will learn, understand and create a vision for our family, and how we want our days, seasons and yearly cycles to look and feel. We will implement, reflect and refine our vision as we go. Together.
